Dear Marie -
I received your welcome letter dated Dec. 9, and also Frank's letter type-written on green paper. I wish to thank you for the Christmas cards and the money enclosed inside of 1 greeting card. Also I received the package for Christmas present, which contained candy, fruit cake, and 2 handkerchiefs. If I have left out any-thing will you mention it when you write please. Thank you for the kodak picture Marie of your children also.
I was so disappointed that Martin was not at Lottie's home for Christmas, for I though surely he would go there. I can not express in words how anxious I am to hear from him. Please write Lottie to try and locate him where he was the last time she heard from him.
Yes reading can be a source of pleasure. There is plenty of reading material to select from over at the library. I may go there when I go out. Marie you don't need to send any devotional booklet but thank you for thinking about it. Now Marie I sent for a crochet pattern and enclosed 10 cents but I have never heard from the company. So Marie could you please send for it for me and enclose 10 cents. You may keep the pattern for me until later dear when you do get it. Now here is the address -

Marie, I remember the time we spent Christmas at that place together and Betty was with you. We surely all had a pleasant time didn't we, and Frank called the names on the presents and Martin passed them out. Glad to have you recall those past Christmas's in your childhood and pleasant memories can be revived and recollections also.
Marie I talked to Dr. about being released and I will write again and explain. Thank you for the special greeting and give me regards to Mr. and Mrs. Durand - Frank's parents.
P.S. Thank you again for what you sent. I am, Mother.
